About the Quality Mark
The New Zealand Beef and Lamb Quality Mark represents a set of standards designed to improve and maintain quality.
It was launched to the consumer on 29 September 1997.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand Ltd is the owner of the Quality Mark and Beef + Lamb New Zealand Inc is responsible for implementing the programme. The Quality Mark standards have been set by representatives of the meat industry at all levels through to retail. The Quality Mark label appears only on meat which has achieved these standards, and the label assures customers that the beef and lamb they purchase is of a consistently high standard.
Beef and Lamb carrying the Quality Mark must firstly be grown and processed in New Zealand.
