Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell
On the global stage that the Olympics represents, Caroline and Georgina have proven their ability not once but twice, with back to back rowing Olympic Gold medals in the double scull at Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008.
Beijing Olympics 2008 saw the twins win in the most dramatic style possible - on the last stroke of the race.
The Evers-Swindells are a household name throughout New Zealand. They are known because of their rowing successes, admired for their values and recognised also for their Beef + Lamb New Zealand endorsement profile. In the 2009 Reader's Digest New Zealand's Most Trusted survey Caroline and Georgina were rated second only to Corporal Bill Apiata.
Now retired, the legacy of Caroline and Georgina is very much alive with a substantial increase in girls rowing numbers and competitive international crews. They have left their mark on all rowing record books, dominating their class since 1997, not without the odd set back, and as such their final race and Olympic Gold defined their true strength.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand is proud to support such top sports women.
