Views, News, and Something to Muse: Burger Thursday

Views, News and Something to Muse is a regular blog from Kit Arkwright, CEO of Beef + Lamb New Zealand – the consumer marketing body for the beef and sheep industry.

I’ve got a public service announcement for you. Thursdays are now known as Burger Thursdays. The day in the week when you get together with friends and family and tuck into a juicy, flavour-packed, cheese melting, saucy, succulent, sumptuous burger. Can you think of a better way to spend Thursday? I can’t.

Forget Taco Tuesdays, Burger Thursdays are here to make your mid-week dinner woes and thing of the past. We’ve all been there, frantically thinking of something to cook that will feed and fuel the whole family.

Enter the burger. This humble hero is here to help. Universally loved, customisable to each and every preference, this mighty dinner occasion turns hungry tummies into happy ones.

But that’s probably enough on the marketing spiel.

Mince has always been a household staple and there isn’t a more loved expression of mince than the burger. Burger Thursdays is a campaign to celebrate the burger. It’s simple in message and unashamedly joyful – something we all might be in need of after the last few months. Mince is an easy, versatile cut that will never let you down.

It’s been brilliant to see the whole sector come together to support Burger Thursday. We’re a strong industry and this again is proof of our efficiency, collaboration and customer-centric focus.

So, spread the word, make it your new family tradition, get creative. No one will be disappointed as there truly is a burger for everyone.
