RUGBY STAR STACEY WAAKA AND BEEF + LAMB NEW ZEALAND PARTNER TO SUPPORT GRASSROOTS SPORT

Beef + Lamb New Zealand is bringing good times and good food to the heart of Kiwi communities this winter.

The initiative will see Beef + Lamb Ambassador and world-renowned rugby superstar Stacey Waaka travel in our custom branded Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - aptly named the Lamb Cruiser to three winning sports clubs across the North Island. At each stop, Waaka will join a "Skills and Drills" coaching session for up to 50 aspiring young athletes, followed by a community barbecue featuring delicious New Zealand beef burgers.

The campaign is designed to celebrate the backbone of New Zealand sport, the local clubs and the whānau who support them. 

"I am so excited to get into the heart of our communities and connect with the next generation of players," says Waaka. "Grassroots rugby is where it all begins, and there’s nothing better than finishing a hard training session with a barbecue and a laugh with the team."

 Beef + Lamb New Zealand is now calling on rugby (union or league) clubs across the North Island to share their stories. Whether a club has faced a challenging season, reached a significant milestone, or simply demonstrates an unwavering commitment to their community, they are encouraged to apply.

Competition Details:

• The Prize: A one-hour coaching session with Stacey Waaka and a post-training New Zealand beef barbecue.

• How to Enter: Clubs can enter via the Beef + Lamb New Zealand website by explaining why their team deserves a visit from the Lamb Cruiser.

• Timeline: Entries are open now, with the winning clubs to be visited during July and August 2026.
